The rest of the stay was a blur of nurses, student nurses, phlebotomists, photographers, lactation specialists, visitors, food service delivery people, midwives, medical study representatives, and nursing assistants. Just to prove to ourselves that we weren't freaking out over nothing, Danny and I took an inventory of how many people had given us some kind of care since we had checked in to the hospital, and the total was over 50 people. And that was just caregivers, not anyone dropping off info or food or anything.
Anyway, by day two Danny and I had HAD it. I have never wanted to leave a place so bad in all my life. I knew I was at my breaking point when a girl came in to take my blood at 3:44 am! If I weren't so tired, I would have lost my mind on her. Thankfully for her, I was already awake because of another nurse standing there taking my blood pressure! I'm pretty sure that my blood pressure is going to be fine WHEN I AM SOUNDLY SLEEPING! But she woke me up anyway, just to check. They wanted me to stay five days in all. On day three my OB said I could leave but the pediatrician said Josie had to stay since she still had a bit of fluid in her lungs. So we sadly stayed one more night, then Josie was given the green light to bail, so bail we did. I think I was ready to go at 8 am that day, although we couldn't leave until noon. Here is what Josie looked like thirty seconds before we left forever:
Evidently being in the hospital too long makes your feet get HUGE.
Anyway, we headed home and the fun began! More photos to come!
