A Slow, Relaxed Start to 2010

Not much has been going on around here lately. Things have been pretty mellow. Mostly we have been hiding inside, trying to stay warm.

Josie is starting to get around more. She isn't crawling yet but she is scooting all over the place:

She is clapping up a storm, saying "da da da da da," and laughing at funny faces we make at her. She and Stevie remain the best of friends. We think she has come up with her first word: "Teh." This is what she calls Stevie when she comes around or does something that Josie loves. She smiles and watches Stevie and says, "Teh, Teh, Teh." We found out today that she also says "Teh" when Stevie is not around, like if you say "do you miss Stevie?" she will respond with "Teh." So we are pretty sure this is her first word, and that it means "Stevie."

She still hangs out in her Exersaucer -- which I am praying will last a while longer!

And she definitely has been enjoying hanging out with (and on) her Daddy:

We also headed to the aquarium a couple weekends ago. It was freezing outside! Her cheeks were bright pink, but she wasn't fazed a bit.

We weren't sure if Josie would even notice the fish, but she definitely did! She loved the penguins...

... and the tropical fish...

... and the sharks!

She had a great time, even though it was even colder when we left!

In prenatal news, the other baby is growing and doing well:

So we just keep on keeping on around the Enos household!

It's a Marshmallow World

For Christmas, we went to Virginia to see the family. But not before our Christmas photo shoot!

And, secretly opening a Christmas gift sent all the way from Atlanta from Auntie Karen!

The next night, we were on our way. We stopped in Connecticut for the last meal of the evening, where Josie got to experience life in the driver's seat. It was COOOLLLD outside, but it was warm and toasty in the car!

The next morning we stopped in Hagerstown, MD, where the always squirmy Josie interfered with my phone call. Dad "helped" by taking pictures.

Stevie pretty much slept the whole way. She often had her poor face smashed up against Josie's carseat.

Like idiots, we didn't take a SINGLE picture on Christmas day. The day was definitely fun but also definitely a blur... Joye's house is always crazy, but add a house full of people, oven buzzers going off, two wild dogs wrestling in every room of the house, screaming spazzy children, and one crying baby (on and off) and you get chaos. Fun, happy chaos, but definitely chaos. So alas, no pictures. The next day though Dad stopped by for a couple hours and we were able to get a few shots of him with Josie!

Later, Josie relaxed with her own Daddy!

The next day, we were able to squeeze in some time with Liz, Karen and Greg. Everyone was busy but we were glad to have a couple hours with them! Josie sat in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant. A first she wasn't crazy about it and evidently did not want us to document it:

But a pacifier quickly remedied the situation.

And shortly, she didn't even need any help to be happy!

IMG_4317

Well... it may have helped that Greg entertained her!

IMG_4322

Karen didn't miss out on any of the Josie action, either!

It didn't take long before Josie conned her way out of the high chair and into Liz's lap!! Liz didn't seem to mind.

Josie in her glory!

The night before we left, Joye, Dan, Madi and Lindsey came over for dinner. Madi and Lindsey were very naughty so we locked them in Stevie's cage. Don't they look so unhappy about it?

The next night we were back in the hotel in Allentown, PA. By 5:30 the next morning, we had Josie and Stevie in bed with us. By 8:30, the smaller two had managed to force me over to the VERY edge of a king sized bed. Typical. At least certain people looked cute.

All in all it was a very successful trip, though it was (as usual) very fast. We missed some folks we really would have loved to see... one day we will be down there for like two weeks and we can see everyone! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!
