Sweet & Low or just plain Saccharine?

I know, it's disgusting to keep talking about it, but I have to say, everyone should have a husband like mine. Not only has he been in the baby's room every night working and organizing (though sometimes questionably) but he even thinks to bring me flowers for no good reason:

He even picked out the three types himself and arranged them! I'm just saying, I am lucky.

Stevie has even been pretty good, and cute:

She has this new pose when she waits for her dinner, she looks like a wet gremlin:

She had a friend over Sunday, Tony's dog Fletch. They got along super well.

But they wore eachother out!

We also got her a huge palatial estate to sleep in. We had a perfectly good crate, but lately she has been loving to stretch way out. She tried the other night and her feet were up against one end of the crate and her head was SMASHED into the far other end, with her chin laying on her chest. She tried to sleep that way and eventually got up and left the crate and stretched out on the floor. So I got on Craigslist (not just for killers!) and shockingly found a guy who wanted to trade his larger crate for one size smaller! He didn't even want any money in return. Not only that, but we had the exact same crates, which was perfect because we loved the style of Stevie's crate. So we met up at the Dunkin Donuts, switched crates, and moved on with our lives. And he didn't even kill us! It's so nice when things work out so perfectly like that. Here is her new palace:

When she sits up, her head doesn't even touch the top anymore! It seems ridiculous to get the largest crate available for a 38 lb. dog, but she is HUGE when she stretches out. Easily 4.5 feet long. And she's not even a year yet!

Thirteen Days!

That's all that's left! That's not even a fortnight. I am lucky to be done with work... we had spring vacation this past week and starting next week my doctor advised me to stop work. She didn't have to tell me twice. Work was making this whole pregnancy thing just so physically difficult, between the stairs and walking all over the building and picking up difficult preschoolers and being on my feet for hours at a time, I was a wreck by the time I went home. So now I am officially on maternity leave. The timing is perfect... I am getting too gigantic to move around without killing myself. Witness the hugeosity for yourself:

Things are getting ugly. You're lucky I cut off my head from the picture!

Had an appointment Monday. The results, in short form:

1) my protein is up
2) my blood pressure is alright
3) the baby is ridiculously active
4) I've got nothing going on in the labor department

So I am hoping we actually get to May before I have to have this thing.

Danny has been awesome, helping me cut the tags off of things and wash them before the baby comes and organizing the baby's room. We still have a lot to do -- including countless thank you notes for everyone's massive generosity -- but we are close enough that if the baby came tomorrow we would be alright. Loosely speaking. Really loose.

Rocky Mountain High

Stevie has been out hitting the town with Danny recently. For a neurotic dog who feels most comfortable at home in her crate, she definitely loves getting out there and exploring. Unfortunately she eats 40% of what she explores. Here are some recent shots of her exploits:

The last (I think) baby skeletor pictures

This time the baby was moving so much (plus it had the hiccups) so we didn't get a decent picture, but you can try. This one is of its right foot... the toes are towards the top and then you can kind of see the outline of the foot below it. Kind of. This one's tough.

This one is of the baby's face again, so one last time, tilt your head to the right.

And this one is better in tiny version... though it's still hard to see:

They estimate the baby weighs 5 lbs 9 oz, which they say is perfect for how far along I am. One month to go!
